Q: I have an old Gevalia Thermal carfe coffee maker ...?
the coffee maker has been in storage for about two years, needless to say I need to clean it and make sure it is safe to use , can I use the vinegar and water method, and how do I know if it is safe, its got a glass thermal carafe, and is about 4 years old.
A: I have used my Gevalia carafe coffee maker for years at my cabin. They use the same water heating element as any coffee maker, so to answer your question, yes you can use the vinegar method.
You could also use CLR and follow the directions for cleaning coffee pots.
Q: what is a good coffee maker with a thermal carafe, espresso maker and easy to clean?
i have NO experience making coffee so any help is appreciated :D
A: I haven't found a good coffee and espresso maker in one. I prefer the Mr. Coffee thermal carafe coffee makers for regular coffee. Easy to use, easy to clean, strong (no glass) and they make good coffee. (Being able to set things up the night before, and have fresh coffee in the morning, when I'm going to be in a hurry in the morning, is nice too.)
Q: What's the best coffee maker with a thermal carafe?
Was thinking about getting this one:

A: I have a coffee maker with a thermal carafe and I don't reccommend them. The weight of the metal in the carafe cools the coffee down too much and there is no heater in the base to keep the coffee warm. So when it brews you end up with a pot of somewhat warm coffee. You have to heat the metal pot up with warm water before the brew.
On mine there is a special screw down top on the carafe which makes cleaning it harder and you have to have tightened down to get it under the filter. The coffee maker won't work without the top on because of a no drip valve under the basket. I ended up ripping the part out since I didn't like dealing with the lid.
Q: Recommend a basic coffee maker which brews at 200 degrees and has a thermal carafe, please.?
Under $80 would be ideal, thank you.
No bells, whistles or timers, not preheated or continuously heated water, no grinder. Just pour the water in, turn it on, and coffee comes out at 200 degrees.
A: if you want to spend a little more Bunn makes an excellent coffee maker, that will brew a pot in three minutes. I am so happy with mine. I think it was around $120.00. but worth it
Q: Do Thermal Coffee Makers save energy?
You know, the coffee makers without hotplates. I'm thinking they would because the only energy you'd use is to brew the coffee, thats it.
A: YES. From what our local news reported, coffee makers use up the electricity of 100 lightbulbs burning.. just to keep your coffee warm.
Q: My coffee maker doesn`t heat the water as well as it used to and doesn`t always run all the water through...?
It is an expensive drip-type with a stainless steel thermal carafe. Seven years old and I have been using tap water in it. Is the heating part of it corroded with deposits and is there a way I can clean it ?
Yes , it does make popping sounds while heating.
A: If you hear "popping" noises when it heats the water then you have mineral deposits built up on the heating element. The heating element acts as a distiller when you add water with minerals in it (tap, spring etc.) If the heating element has mineral build up, it will not work as well as when you purchased it. If it is a commercial brewer, do not run vinegar through it (you will have vinegar taste for about 20-30 pots)
Can you tell us what make and model the brewer is?
Q: Where can I get a gasket for a gevalia capresso thermal coffeemaker?
This expensive coffee maker was a gift ($129 value), and it's great, but it's starting to leak on the bottom of the pot. I can find the website, but can't find where to order a gasket. A new thermal pot costs $40. Any suggestions, other than "Buy a Mr. Coffee"?
A: there must be a contact link on the website, or a phone number, i would contact the company directly, or as the other responder sugested, ebay..you would be amazed at what you can find there..you might also consider going to your local hardware store, with the measurement of the gasket you are looking for, my nearby store was able to come up with a suitable substitute for one i needed for a blender..
good luck
Q: Coffee Makers that brew HOT coffee?
Is there a coffee maker out there that will brew HOT coffee? I've been through 6 or more units but the coffee is just not hot enough, especially the so-called "thermal" aluminum pots that are the worst of the worse. Sure, you can put boiling water in the carafe before brewing but that virtually negates having it ready in the morning.
A: I have pasted a link below that will take you to a well written writeup on the TECHNIVORM coffee maker. You can do a GOOGLE search to find the best deal, but this site has one of the best discriptions I have seen for this unit.
Q: I have a Starbucks thermal french press coffe maker and I need to change the filter. It really smells and...?
it gives the coffee bad taste. Does any one knows where to get the replacements?
Not paper ones: the disc that presses the coffee. It's a French press. I look online and I only see the Bodum replacements but not the ones that the Starbucks Thermal French press has. I can't find them!
Vinager didn't help...
A: Starbucks.
Q: My friend needs your help?
My friend has this coffee maker and has no idea how to use it. The Starbucks Barifta Aroma Solo Thermal Coffee Maker. Does anyone have any ideas?
A: owners manual but i HATE reading those things there spppp boaring so go to starbucks.com or go to starbucks and ask them quetions about it im sure some one will help u! good day sir
Q: Suggestions for brands of coffee makers and bean grinder???
Good Morning,Ya'll,my DH and I are looking to purchase a new coffee maker and grinder for Christmas for our home. We were looking at purchasing a combo in the Cuisinart Grind & Brew model with a stainless thermal carafe. Does anyone own this type model or give us any suggestions on coffee markers with a bean grinder or an outstanding single coffee marker that has a stainless carafe and a separate brand of bean grinder? One of my main issues with the combo model would be clugging up and cleaning. Thanks any suggestions and Merry Christmas Ya'll!!!!
PS-We have had Bunn, Mr. Coffee,KitchenAid brand coffee makers:( and our bean grinder is KitchenAid:(
A: Those combo rigs are really tough to clean, oil from the beans gets all up in there and it's almost impossible to keep it clean with out constantly running vinegar through it. Rancid coffee oil ruins your coffee and then you get all angry for spending so much on something that only really brewed decent coffee for a month or 2.
I would suggest:
A capresso or braun grinder
A Chemex glass gravity brewer (all glass and a breeze to keep clean) -

A thermal carafe for pouring your coffee into after you're done with the brewing process
