Q: How much coffee do I add when using a 4 cup coffee maker?
I bought a new coffee maker but my toddler son ruined the instructions with juice. What correct measurement of coffee should be added? thank you all.

A: I usually make my coffee by the cup or two cups, and I use about a heaping teaspoon per cup. It depends on other things too: for lighter roasts I minus a little (like columbian) for darker roasts I add a heaping teaspoon and a bit (makes it more robust) and it depends also on the grind. For finer grinds, I use just a teaspoon and for courser grinds maybe a tsp and a half. I love coffee too. Sometimes you have to adjust depending on the brand or blend, so just sample it thru trial and error until you get the best combo!

Q: Why does my 4 cup coffee maker suck?
I got a 4 cup coffee maker from wal mart and when it makes the coffee it is not very strong. I use the amount of coffee they say to and water and everything. It still isnt strong enough. Is it because the smaller ones arent powerful enough or what?

A: There it is: You got it at Walmart. Walmart doesn't sell high quality things.

Q: How many tea bags would I need to brew tea in a 4 cup coffee maker?
and how much water do I need to add after a I brew it? Making some southern style sweet tea. Gonna get hopped up on the good stuff.

A: In a 4 cup maker, IF you are making a 2-quart pitcher, you'll need 4 tea bags and then after you brew the four cups of tea, add 1/2 c sugar to the hot tea and then add cold water or cold water and ice to chill...Be sure you stir and melt the sugar BEFORE you add the cold water!! It's really good when you make it like this!

Q: How do you brew sweet tea in a 4 cup coffee maker?
How much water do I add after I brew? How many Tea bags should I use?

A: I make sweet tea all the time in my four cup coffee maker. I use about six regular size bags. This makes a gallon of tea. If you wanted to make less tea you could use three regular tea bags and make 2 quarts.

Q: i have a 4 cup mr. coffee maker, what kind of coffee and how much do i use?

A: Depends where you are. Here in Louisiana, we mostly use Community Coffee. You can buy it online. I have had people from other states drink it and tell me it is the best coffee they have ever had. Folgers is ok if you cannot find Community. Using a TBLS per cup of water will make a very strong coffee. I use 3/4 of a Tablespoon per every cup of water. If you think it is too weak, add more next time. Strong coffee with boiled milk is great. Like New Orleans Cafe' du Monde in the French Quarter. I am a coffee lover!! Have fun.

Q: How to make a really good cup of coffee?
One tablespoon or two? (for a one-person, 4-cup coffee maker)

A: It depends on what kind of coffee you like. Do you like it strong? I have the 4 cup Mr. Coffee coffeemaker and I use almost a fourth of a cup of coffee to make the full pot. If you have access to a Pampered Chef consultant or you could go to www.pamperedchef.com, there is a really good kind of coffee with hazelnut, cinnamon, and vanilla that I just had at my friend's house a couple of days ago. If you are interested, my e-mail is speedyfingers23@yahoo.com. Hope your excellent cup of coffee helps keep you awake today! :o)

A: of course

Q: Coffee maker question?
I have a Mr. Coffee 4 cup coffee maker (model CGX5), and recently I always have grounds in my coffee. I tried using different sized filters. Is this just a bad coffee maker, or whats the problem?

A: You need to clean your coffee maker by running a 50/50 vinegar and water through it 3 times in a row. Then twice with clear water to rinse it. What is happening is that your coffee maker is dirty on the INSIDE and is clogging up. when that happens the water tries harder to get through it, sometimes the water gets stuck in the hose and then JETS STREAMS out into the coffee grounds filter instead of dripping. this splatters coffee grounds up and over the filter and into your coffee pot.
