Q: Do chocolate covered coffee beans work? How much caffeine is in a bean?
I just ate a few, and yes I feel a little more awake. I tried looking it up on Google, but have found no hard facts that the candy has caffeine in it, or that they have more caffeine than a regular cup of coffee. Just wondering. Either way, they taste better- being the chocolate lover that I am.

A: Don't know how much they have in them but they sure do give me a pick-me-up and I love them

Q: What is the caffeine content of a chocolate covered coffee bean?

I am 4 months pregnant and I accidentley ate a chocolate covered coffee bean in a cake. I know I may be parinoid but I must ask anyways. Will the baby be okay?

Q: How can I make chocolate covered coffee beans at home?
Can I use the coffee beans straight from the grocery store? Or do I need to do anything to them before I cover them in chocolate?

A: I think it would be difficult to do at home. Chocolate covered coffee beans are made in a "panner" It looks like an old style cement mixer. You put the coffee beans in and they rotate in the drum. Then you ladled chocolate over them with a fan blowing to cool the chocolate. They you do another layer and so on until you reach the the thickness you want. You might try dipping them multiple times. But without a fan blowing the melted chocolate on the first layer may just come off. Also you would need a dark roast bean as medium roast are hard to bite. Most commercial chocolate covered beans use peaberry beans. Without a long explanation suffice it to say they are smaller and almost round.

Q: Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans?
Does anyone have a good recipe for chocolate covered coffee beans? I've tried several recipes I've found online but they weren't very good. I'm not expecting it to be like the ones you buy because I don't have professional equipment. Just something that can be made at home.

A: this is very easy! ok. so go to your local store and purchase dolce chocolate covered strawberry sauce. buy your coffee beans and dip the beans in that sauce and refrigerate for 1 hour. this choclate is great!!! you will love it! promise!

Q: Can you use any type of coffee beans from the grocery store to make chocolate covered coffee beans? recommend?
I was also thinking of using the chocolate bark, like we use for chocolate covered pretzels and other nuts and stuff. Will that work for these beans, you think? Using flavored beans "sounds" good.

A: yes, you can use any type of bean. I would use either the traditional espresso bean of hazlenut bean yum!!!

Q: Can anyone think of an easy fast way to cover coffee beans in chocolate?
I have read several recipes on the internet but they all seem very time consuming as you must separate each bean after coating, then rub them in cocoa. How are they mass produced? Is there a home-use machine to coat lots of little things with chocolate, or could one be made? I mean something easier than say, these two methods: scoop up a forkful of dripping-with-chocolate beans and then push them off one at a time with the tines of another fork, aiming for the waxed paper. Repeat the dip-and-drop with the rest of the beans. -ask.com Remove with slotted spoon, allowing excess chocolate to drip off and place beans on waxed paper. Once the coffee beans have cooled sufficiently, but while the chocolate is still a little soft, roll the beans in your hands to form round balls - RecipeZaar.com Guess I was thinking there must be some machine out there that does this without a human being messing with each one by hand. I was thinking of some kind of roller tray that keeps them spinning while coating and drying? - anyone work in a real candy factory? How are M+Ms coated?

A: good question! i would just make a coffee bean bark if i were you...but then again, that wouldn't work if you were going to use the beans in a decorative manner. hmm... i would probably get a clean piece of mesh steel(like the kind in screen doors) and evenly spread the beans out on it. pour the melted chocolate over them, then after it has dried, turn them over and repeat for the other side. most candy companies use large tumbling bins, like open dryers that contain the candy centers. they will then have a worker pour on the specified amount of liquid coating--the tumbling action causes it to dry evenly on the center. i suppose if you wanted to be super creative, you could try and make your own mini tumbler, using a child's rock tumbler toy. ;-)

Q: will eating chocolate covered coffee beans wake you up in the morning?
if so, why don't people do it?

A: Absolutely......it is skipping the water out of a cup of coffee & going straight to the source. It is eating the actual coffee itself as opposed to weakening the coffee by running it through a machine and using water to pull the coffees caffeine out. Most peeps do not eat them cuz they are super strong. And you have to really love coffee and the taste of coffee to eat the grinds. I personally love them & would prefer them over a cup of coffee any day!!!

Q: Do coffee places still sell chocolate covered coffee beans?
and if so, where can i get them and how much are they? I remember having these things a while back, but was craving for some recently.

A: yes http://www.nutsonline.com/chocolatessweets/moregoodies/darkchocolate-espresso-beans.html

Q: Have you ever heard of white chocolate covered coffee beans?
If you have, do you know how to make it? I tried one, and it was AMAZINGG, but I don't know how to make it..

A: Ingredients: 1 cup roasted coffee beans 4 ounces white chocolate chips Method: Melt the chocolate in a double boiler until liquid and smooth. Drop in a handful of beans, and stir them around. Scoop them out with a spoon, and set them out on wax paper. Keep them separate. Continue until all the beans are covered. They will harden overnight, or if you are in a hurry, you can freeze them for about half an hour. Once hard, they won't stick together and can be stored in any airtight container. Good luck and enjoy
